Programs

Heidi McFaddenHere at Fremont Adult and Continuing Education (FACE), we continue to find new and innovative ways to provide our community with free or low-cost educational opportunities that lead to exciting careers. We are thrilled to announce our new English Language Learner (ELL) Healthcare Pathways program. ELL students who are eligible will be able to take free preparatory courses and choose from three in-demand job training options, Clinical Medical Assisting, Phlebotomy, or Pharmacy Technician. We are partnering with CalRegional and MVROP to ensure the success of our students in their job training programs. We will provide simultaneous support for students while they are in the job training portion of the program and will assist with job placement once graduates have completed their certifications. This is a fantastic and low-cost opportunity for students to begin a new career in the medical field.

We also continue to offer a variety of other wonderful opportunities for adults in our community. We offer an Accounting/Bookkeeping class that will help you prepare for the Quickbooks Certified User exam and allow you to become eligible for numerous local bookkeeping jobs. This class is very popular, so sign up now to guarantee your spot. Our BankWork$ Program, an eight week training for careers in the banking industry, is more popular than ever. We offer four cohorts per year here at FACE, and assist all graduates with resume building, job placement, and ongoing support for up to one year after graduation. Our bank partners attend a graduation and hiring fair at the end of each eight- week session, and our graduates are hired within a few weeks. We are also offering beginning and advanced welding courses that will help you either learn a few basic welds for projects around your home or advance in your career by earning the American Welding Society’s (AWS) professional certifications.

FACE’s Paraeducator Preparation course will help prepare you to become a paraeducator, supporting teachers and students in local school districts. This course will assist you in passing the required hiring exam, as well as teach you the role of paraprofessional in the classroom. If you have ever wanted to make a difference in someone’s life, this is your opportunity. We will also provide assistance with job search and placement for open jobs in local school districts.

If you simply want to take English as a Second Language, high school diploma, or GED courses, we are eager to help you. Join us today for these exciting opportunities! Call us at (510) 793-6465 for more information! We look forward to helping you start your new career!
