Health & Safety Measures on FACE Campus

The Fremont Adult and Continuing Education (FACE) campus serves early learners through senior citizens with outstanding educational opportunities and resources, and is accessible to community members with a variety of needs.

Recently, FACE staff noticed an increased number of feral cats on the campus. While a certain amount of wildlife is expected and acceptable on a campus with open space such as ours, the number and demeanor of the cats began posing a threat to the health and safety of our staff and the community that we serve.

FACE staff are working with the Fremont Unified School District and appropriate organizations to mitigate the serious concerns caused by the cats on campus through humane and natural deterrents, such as landscaping with plants that cats avoid. This work ensures FACE can continue to provide facilities that meet health and safety standards in compliance with both our mission and the law.
